Qualifications:

  • 3+ years public accounting experience.
  • Partnership, S-Corporation, individual, & fiduciary tax experience.
  • Real estate experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in software applications: Microsoft Excel, CCH ProSystem fx Tax/Axcess & Engagement.
  • CPA certification a plus, but not required.
  • Skills: Positive attitude, time management, emotional intelligence, professionalism, managerial skills and team management, works well under time constraints and pressure.


Responsibilities:

Preparation of tax returns, including preparation of supporting schedules, tax trial balances, tax adjustments, and input tax return data in tax software.

Provide prior year tax adjustments to controllers and determine availability of current year data.  Resolve specific issues or concerns prior to year-end if possible.

Prepare tax return checklists and oversees documentation receipts for all entities.

Coordinate tax return data requirements with departmental controllers and accountants and obtain data for tax return documentation.

G/L and Fixed Asset Ledger review and reconciliation for various entities.

Oversees preparation of corporate annual reports.

Correspond with IRS or state agencies in response to notices or letters.

Perform tax research on topics as assigned or to support tax return positions.

Maintain investment and basis files for owners.

Maintain current and prior year tax and permanent files.

Maintain updated knowledge or rules and regulations and effectively coordinate implementation and communication of changes in the law where applicable within the organization.

Explore technology solutions and, when appropriate, make recommendations of such solutions to optimize use of resources.

Assist in the maintenance and development of documentation of applicable processes and procedures.

Works afterhours and weekends as needed, generally during tax season and before corporate filing deadlines.

  • Maintain company’s culture and upholds integrity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
