City of Naples Announces Groundbreaking Ceremony for Stormwater Beach Outfall Project
Naples, FL (October 1, 2024): The City of Naples invites the public to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the Stormwater Beach Outfall Project on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 10:00 AM. The ceremony will take place on the beach at the 3rd Avenue North beach access.
This landmark project will significantly enhance water quality through a state-of-the-art stormwater treatment train, improve flood protection, reduce beach erosion, safeguard environmental species, and remove unsightly stormwater outfall pipes from Naples' beautiful beaches. Additionally, it will bolster the City’s resiliency to climate change and protect our coastal ecosystem.
The ceremony will recognize the efforts and support of project partners, stakeholders, and the community. Attendees will hear remarks from Mayor Teresa Heitmann, Senate President Kathleen Passidomo, and City Manager Jay Boodheshwar, followed by an overview of the project from Public Works Director Bob Middleton.

Please note that 2nd Avenue North, 3rd Avenue North, and 4th Avenue North beach parking will be closed from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM to accommodate the event.
