Congratulations to the January 2023 Business of the Month

Congratulations to the January 2023 Business of the Month

Collier County Government and Greater Naples Chamber partnered together and chose Inn at Pelican Bay as the January 2023 Business of the Month. An award was presented to Inn at Pelican Bay at the Collier County Board of County Commissioners meeting on January 10, 2023.

Each month, the award is presented to an organization that has enhanced the community through financial, volunteer, and active involvement in organizations and programs that assist in creating a better quality of life for all citizens in Collier County. The company chosen will also be featured at the following Wake Up Naples/Chamber Conversation event.

The Collier County Board of County Commissioners, Michael Dalby, President and CEO of Greater Naples Chamber, and Bethany Sawyer, VP of Membership at Greater Naples Chamber presented Stephen Dorcy, General Manager of Inn at Pelican Bay with a commemorative plaque at the January 2023 County Commission meeting.

Being a small business with 35 employees, their philosophy is "Everyone does Everything no matter what their position is".  On any given day you will see the General Manager working in the breakfast area bussing tables and talking with guests or the Director of Sales driving guests to the beach and the Front Desk staff or the Bellman collecting garbage and taking it to their dumpster. This happens on a daily basis with the entire staff pitching in, which is one of the reasons we are number one for guest satisfaction out of 57 hotels in Collier County on Trip Advisor for over a year now. Because it is such a great environment to work, they have the pleasure of having both multigenerational relatives as well as husbands and wives working there as team members for many years. Their retention of team members is 7.1 years with a few of them having been with them for more than 16 years.

Their owners were one of the founding members of the Naples Winter Wine Festival.  Their General Manager has been deeply involved with Special Olympics for 30 years. They also have multiple employee's involved with the Sunshine Kids which is a charity for children stricken with cancer. They work with St. Mathew's House continuously throughout the year to donate to them any items that would benefit them. They work with all non-profit agencies by donating gift certificates for any fund raising events. Most recently, we provided complimentary guest rooms to the Gold Star families who were displaced because of hurricane Ian for as long as they needed.

Inn at Pelican Bay will be acknowledged at our next Wake Up Naples event on March 29.
