Hurricane Housing Recovery Program (HHRP) Expands Grants to Residents
Residents may now apply for homeowners’ and/or flood Insurance, mortgage assistance, and rent assistance, up to $25,000 in grant funding.
Collier County is expanding efforts to assist residents recovering from the storm impacts and flooding related to Hurricane Ian (September 28, 2022), Invest 90L (June 11, 2024), and Tropical Storm/Hurricane Debby (August 4, 2024). Grants now offer help paying for new homeowners’ and flood insurance policies, mortgage, or rental assistance to qualified residents whose primary housing was damaged or who suffered direct financial impacts from the afore declared disasters. For these programs, the property affected must be the applicant’s primary residence and the home must be located within Collier County. For specific details about each program, visit https://www.colliercountyhousing.com/disaster-assistance-programs/
All grants will remain available on a first-apply, first-qualify basis until funds are exhausted.
Mortgage, rent, and homeowners’ insurance/flood assistance grant applications are currently open.
The mortgage payment grants are intended to assist individuals and families who occupied their primary residence on September 28, 2022 (Hurricane Ian), June 11, 2024 (Invest 90L), or Tropical Storm-Hurricane Debby (August 4, 2024) and have been displaced from their homes due or have had a financial loss due to one of the above mentioned declared disasters and continue to hold a mortgage for this residence. Maximum award amounts totaling up to $25,000 per household.
