Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday

Small businesses have a significant economic impact. Since 1995, more than half of the United States’ workforce have been created by small business. According to the Small Business Administration (SBA), small businesses have added 8 million jobs since 1990.

In Collier County, nearly 46% of employees are employed by a small business, or a company with fewer than 100 workers, and most of these businesses having one to four employees.

When you shop local, potential job opportunities increase, as the consumer helps stimulate nearby businesses to hire more and cater diverse products in store.

When swiping that card, you are investing in local businesses. And in the Naples area, there’s much to see and do, shop and eat, so take advantage and explore what local or in-town options there are this season!

The Shop Small Campaign is partnered with American Express, who has committed more than $100 million to inspire consumers to support their nearby small businesses; so regardless of when you shop or dine at a small business, your support carries out all year long even if it’s not a neighborhood favorite.

Not only does the Naples Chamber encourage you to participate in Small Business Saturday, but we encourage you to shop small all year!
