Farm City BBQ

Wednesday, November 22, 2023 (11:30 AM - 2:30 PM) (EST)

Description

Tickets are on sale now for the 66th Annual Farm-City BBQ, which will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at the Collier County Fairgrounds, 751 39th Ave. NE, Naples. Held for more than 65 years and attracting 3,000 local business leaders and farm families, this event features elected officials working as “celebrity servers” handing out steak, corn, and Immokalee salad that includes locally grown tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, squash and eggplant.

Country musician Maggie Baugh, originally from Boca Raton and now living in Nashville, will perform the national anthem at 11:45 a.m. and three sets during the event. Maggie Baugh’s viral singles “Think About Me” and “Drinking to the Broken Hearts” gained her entry into the Spotify Million Plus Club. In addition to being added to multiple editorial playlists, including a #1 song on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds” Country Best of 2021” end of year wrap, the Nashville music industry is showing its enthusiasm for her independent success. She recently played the famous Ryman Auditorium as a special guest for Home Free.

In addition, 4H volunteers will sell bags of fresh local produce donated by Lipman Family Farms for $10 each, and a Christmas tree vendor will be open. Silent auction items such as a Big Green Egg will be available for bidding at the event and continue online through Nov. 27. Beer, wine, soft drinks and water are included. Forks are provided but guests are encouraged to bring a steak knife. Dress is country casual.

Sen. Kathleen Passidomo is honorary chair and Russell Budd is chair of the fundraiser that benefits local youth programs at Collier County 4H Association, Collier County Junior Deputies League, the Immokalee Foundation, Kiwanis’ Key Clubs, and Youth Leadership Collier.

Tickets are $30 each and available at farmcitybbq.com

Southwest Florida’s agricultural and natural resources industries have an annual impact of $8.11 billion through direct, indirect, and induced sales. Our farmers and ranchers feed, clothe, and shelter our community—but they rely on essential partnerships with urban and suburban communities.

National Farm-City Week takes place the week before Thanksgiving every year to recognize the importance of our farmers and further the cooperative network that keeps our country healthy and happy. In the past years, we have attracted over 3000 local business leaders and farm families to help raise proceeds for our local youth programs. This year, we need your support to ensure that our children can continue to learn about the agricultural industry and what it means to us.
