Kathleen Passidomo - President of the Florida Senate
Kathleen C. Passidomo was elected in 2021 by her colleagues to assume the role of Senate President for the 2022-2024 legislative term and is the third woman to serve as President in the 185-year history of the state’s upper chamber. As President of the Florida Senate, Passidomo has led the development and passage of comprehensive legislation to increase attainable workforce housing, expand access to Florida’s Wildlife Corridor and invest more than $4 billion to support hurricane recovery and increase storm resiliency in the Sunshine State.
Prior to her role as President, Passidomo served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Rules, a position to which she was appointed by then-President Wilton Simpson, and Senate Majority Leader, an appointment by then-President Bill Galvano. Passidomo was elected to the Florida Senate in November 2016 after serving in the Florida House of Representatives since 2010.
