The Director of Brand Engagement is responsible for leading the Marketing & Communications Department, ensuring the integrity, consistency, and strategic alignment of the Greater Naples Chamber’s brand across all media platforms. As the Chamber’s lead marketing and communications professional, this role collaborates with all departments to develop and execute marketing, internal and external communications, and brand strategies that support the Chamber’s mission and objectives. 

 

We are seeking a creative, proactive and dynamic leader with expertise in branding, communications and marketing. The ideal candidate will elevate the Chamber’s presence and engagement within the community through innovative strategies and effective storytelling. 

 

Reports to: Chamber COO 

Department: Greater Naples Chamber 

Interrelationships: Works closely with all Chamber staff and external businesses. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Organizational Strategy 

  • Lead the marketing team in developing and implementing a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy. 

  • Maintain and strengthen the Chamber’s brand positioning, ensuring consistency across all platforms. 

  • Oversee all marketing efforts, including social media, press releases, editorials, e-blasts, blog posts, media placements, and multimedia projects. 

  • Manage relationships with external vendors and agencies for marketing and communications initiatives. 

  • Develop and implement a crisis communication plan. 

  • Oversee departmental budget and allocate resources for short-term and long-term projects. 

  • Maintain and optimize the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. 

  • Create segmented and customized communication strategies tailored to various audiences. 

  • Collaborate with Chamber staff to develop and execute marketing opportunities. 

  • Conduct market research, analyze data, and prepare reports to inform marketing strategies. 

  • Oversee the production of Chamber publications, including research, development, editing, fact-checking, and distribution. 

  • Maintain and update departmental policies and procedures. 

  • Ensure the Chamber website remains current and strategically aligned with marketing objectives. 

  • Work cross-functionally with department heads to develop and execute an integrated marketing plan. 

 

Public Relations & Communications 

  • Write and distribute press releases and editorials while coordinating media outreach for maximum exposure. 

  • Monitor media mentions and analyze website and social media performance. 

  • Coordinate media interviews with subject matter experts. 

  • Develop, curate, and distribute content for Chamber newsletters and member communications. 

  • Schedule and oversee Member Spotlight e-blasts and press releases. 

  • Proofread and edit communications materials, including press releases, e-newsletters, photography, and videography. 

  • Create and manage blog content to enhance engagement and visibility. 

 

Design & Creative Development 

  • Design and develop content for print and digital marketing materials, including advertisements, brochures, flyers, social media graphics, and event collateral. 

  • Regularly update digital and print collateral to maintain brand consistency. 

  • Design and manage templates for presentations, web content, and advertisements. 

  • Implement website advertising strategies. 

  • Review and approve community event requests. 

 

Events & Programs 

  • Work with events manager to ensure successful engaging and high-quality events and programming. 

  • Coordinate sponsorship fulfillment and maintain brand integrity at Chamber events. 

 

Preferred Skills and Abilities: 

  • Proven skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, InDesign), Canva, and Microsoft Office 

  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in the successful development and execution of marketing campaigns, communications, and public relations activities 

  • Excellent organizational and creative-thinking skills, focus for details, ability to manage multiple requests, and the unique ability to keenly assess priorities and meet deadlines 

  • Excellent writing and editing skills (AP style) 

  • Creative skills in social media marketing implementation and recording analytics 

  • Graphic design experience – specifically in designing creative social media graphics, flyers, PowerPoints, advertisements, and event materials 

  • Experience working with a CRM or customer database system 

  • Photography and Video experience is a plus 

  • Capability to manage multiple requests while also being detail-oriented with an attention to quality 

  • Ability to problem-solve and collaborate with team members 

  • A bachelor’s degree preferably in communications, marketing, advertising, or public relations  

  • 3+ years of experience in related fields

  • Occasional nights/mornings based on circumstances 

  

Ability to commute/relocate
