POSITION SUMMARY:

The Finance/HR Coordinator is a vital member of the STARability Foundation team, responsible for supporting daily Accounting functions and providing HR support with projects as needed. The Finance/HR Coordinator contributes to the organization’s overall effectiveness. Through strong organizational skills, resource management, and effective communication, this position is key in advancing STARability’s mission to empower individuals with disabilities to thrive.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


Uphold STARability’s Core Values of Support, Teamwork, Awareness, and Respect.

Ongoing support of Accounting and HR functions

Additional duties as assigned including attending and participating in STARability social and fundraising events.


ACCOUNTING RESPONSIBILITIES : 

Daily reconciliation of deposits through various platforms such as Square, Stripe, Cardpointe, Give Butter and RunSignup

Assist with check deposits, petty cash processing and manual check runs.

Assist with all Program billing/invoicing.

Support the Finance and Development departments with grant reporting requirements including but not limited to monthly APD reports , quarterly NCEF reports and annual reports to the Schulze Foundation and the Community Foundation. 

Support the Finance and Development departments with providing financial information for new grant applications.

Monthly Sales Tax remittance.

Bi-weekly payroll processing and employee reimbursements through our Professional Employment Organization.

Upload invoices to bill payment application (Bill.com) with correct General Ledger account coding and departments.

Assist with monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

Assist with credit card reconciliations.

Provide administrative support for budgeting, financial reporting and annual financial audit preparation.

Other duties as assigned


HUMAN RESOURCES RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Assist with onboarding and offboarding, including new hire paperwork and employee record maintenance.

Assist with maintaining and updating HR databases and personnel files as needed.

Other duties as assigned.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Stand or sit for long periods periodically.

May occasionally lift at least 50 pounds unassisted and perform emergency physical interaction techniques, including lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, blocking, and grabbing with or without assistance.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s degree in finance, Business, or a related field, or at least two years of experience in office administration, accounting, HR support, or a similar role.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems with an emphasis on strong Excel skills.

Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks Online preferred). 

Nonprofit experience a plus.

Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices.

Experience in grant reporting a plus.

Ability to manage and handle confidential information with the utmost discretion.

Ability to be flexible, patient and handle a variety of situations.

Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload efficiently and collaborate effectively across teams.
