The Merchandise Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing product selection, inventory management, and sales performance across our Sunshine ACE Hardware retail locations. This position involves analyzing sales trends, evaluating product performance, and collaborating with buyers, marketing team, vendors and store teams to ensure the right mix of merchandise is available to meet customer demand.
 
Your Role
  • Sales & Inventory Analysis: Monitor sales data, inventory levels, and purchasing trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Product Performance Evaluation: Assess SKU performance and recommend adjustments to product assortments.
  • Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Work closely with suppliers to negotiate pricing, promotions, and product availability.
  • Pricing Strategy: Assist in setting competitive pricing strategies based on market trends and customer demand.
  • Promotional Planning: Support merchandising initiatives, including seasonal promotions and marketing campaigns.
  • Store Support: Provide insights and recommendations to store managers to optimize product placement and inventory turnover.
  • Reporting & Forecasting: Generate reports on sales performance, inventory health, and purchasing trends to guide decision-making.
 
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience in retail merchandising, inventory management, or data analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and retail management software.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of hardware and home improvement products is a plus.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Requires the ability to reach, bend and stoop
  • Possession of a valid State of Florida Driver License with a clean driving record in accordance with the company's insurance carrier's standards
