Position Summary: The Project Manager – Revenue Generation, supports mission-aligned business activities that drive earned income for the Garden. This role provides critical project and operations support to two managers responsible for Horticultural Consulting & Plant Sales/Growing and Plant Conservation & Plant Sales/Growing.
The Project Manager will work closely with both managers to help plan, organize, and track projects that include consulting services, conservation-based initiatives, plant production, and plant sales. This role ensures smooth execution of revenue-generating activities and supports cross-departmental coordination and client engagement.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Coordination & Execution:
- Manage timelines, tasks, and deliverables for consulting, conservation, and plant sales initiatives.
- Coordinate internal and external meetings, client communications, and follow-up actions.
- Support the execution of plant sales, events, and fee-for-service consulting projects.
- Assist with contracts, scheduling, work plans, and documentation for client or partner engagements.
Operations & Process Support:
- Maintain systems for tracking revenue, project milestones, and customer/client activity.
- Support budgeting, invoicing, and administrative tasks in collaboration with finance and department leads.
- Help streamline and standardize workflows across both departments for increased efficiency and scalability.
Communication & Reporting:
- Prepare presentations, progress reports, and updates for internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ensure consistent branding and messaging across materials related to revenue-generating activities.
- Serve as a communication link between both departments and other areas of the Garden to keep efforts aligned and on schedule.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience in project management, environmental science, horticulture, business, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of project or operations management experience in a dynamic work environment.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience supporting sales, consulting services, or revenue-generating programs is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, or similar).
- Enthusiasm for plants, sustainability, and the mission of public gardens is a plus.
- Based on-site at the Garden, with regular travel to customers and sites in Southwest Florida.
- Some evening or weekend hours may be required.
- Must be able to work outside in heat and in undeveloped land without opportunities to sit.
