Vice President (VP), Membership and Corporate Partnerships

The VP of Membership and Corporate Partnerships leads the Chamber’s new membership growth and revenue strategy, with a strong focus on new member acquisition, high-value Investor memberships, and sponsorship sales. This role owns the full sales lifecycle - from prospecting and closing to onboarding and long-term value alignment - while ensuring results meet or exceed Strategic Plan goals, KPIs, and financial targets. 

 

The VP works cross-departmentally to deliver a premium member experience that strengthens the Chamber’s influence, sustainability, and community impact. 

 

Reports to: President & CEO 

Employment Type: Full-time, exempt position 

Compensation: Competitive base salary (starting at $75,000+), plus performance-based commission and comprehensive benefits package 
Department: Membership 
Interrelationships: Chamber staff, members, Investors, Ambassadors, and external partners 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Membership Sales & Investor Growth 

  • Drive new member acquisition across all tiers, with emphasis on Investor-level and high-revenue memberships 

  • Serve as lead salesperson for prospective members, Investors, and sponsors 

  • Build and manage a strong prospect pipeline, referrals, and strategic partnerships 

  • Lead onboarding conversations that communicate ROI, benefits, and engagement pathways 

  • Establish early engagement plans focused on retention, upgrades, and long-term value 

  • Develop and apply membership targeting guidelines to attract qualified, sustainable businesses 

Engagement, Retention & Experience 

  • Build strong relationships with members and Investors to understand business needs 

  • Promote upgrades, sponsorships, and add-on programs 

  • Lead first-year retention and proactive renewal efforts 

  • Ensure timely resolution of member inquiries and concerns 

Campaigns, Data & Reporting 

  • Partner with Marketing on membership campaigns and lead generation 

  • Manage membership benefit packaging and communications 

  • Own Strategic Plan KPIs related to growth, revenue, retention, and engagement 

  • Maintain CRM accuracy and prepare monthly performance reports for leadership 

Events & Committees 

  • Represent Membership at Chamber events and engagement activities 

  • Support Ambassador outreach and Member Success Orientation 

  • Serve as staff liaison to designated committees as assigned 

 

What Success Looks Like in this Role 

6 Months 

  • Active new member and Investor sales pipeline in place 

  • CRM usage and reporting fully established 

  • Membership growth KPIs on track 

12 Months 

  • New member and Investor revenue goals met or exceeded 

  • Measurable growth in Investor memberships and sponsorships 

  • Leadership receives clear, actionable KPI reporting 

Ongoing 

  • Membership sales consistently support Chamber financial sustainability 

  • High member and Investor satisfaction and ROI 

  • Membership team viewed as a strategic revenue driver 

 

Performance Metrics 

  • Net new membership and Investor revenue 

  • First-year member and Investor retention 

  • Strategic Plan KPI achievement and reporting accuracy 

  • Quality, efficiency, collaboration, and timeliness 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 10+ years’ experience in membership sales, business development, or related field 

  • Proven success in revenue-driven, relationship-based sales 

  • Experience translating strategic plans into measurable membership growth initiatives 

  • Exceptional networking, communication, and organizational skills 

  • Advanced experience leveraging CRM systems and project management platforms, with strong Microsoft Office proficiency 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams 

 

Additional Requirements 
This role requires the use of a personal vehicle for business travel. Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required; mileage reimbursed. 

 

Work Schedule 

Standard business hours with flexibility required for events, meetings, and community engagement.
