About
Youth Haven is Collier County's only emergency and residential shelter for abused, abandoned and neglected children aged 6-18. Youth Haven has been in continuous operation since 1972 and features 3 main programs: Emergency Shelter, Counseling Center, and Homeless Teen & Transitional Living Program. In April 2018, Youth Haven celebrated the grand opening of Rob's Group Home, a home-like facility with walk-in and overnight services for homeless and runaway teens aged 16-19 who have nowhere else to turn. At Rob's, teens are given intensive case management and life skills training through Youth Haven's ground-breaking Teen Homeless & Transitional Living Program, affording them the resources and support needed to become independent, successful adults who can provide for themselves and become active members of their community - in a safe, compassionate and accepting environment. The program provides teen housing and comprehensive supportive services designed to break the cycle of homelessness and effectively address the needs of these adolescents during a critical moment in their lives. Youth Haven's emergency and residential shelters are licensed for 73 total beds, and its Counseling Center is open to the public, providing services to Collier County children and teens under the age of 21. Youth Haven's licensed therapists begin the process of mending traumatized lives through traditional as well as cutting edge, innovative therapies. Specialized therapies include certified Animal-assisted Therapy, and certified Play Therapy for young children. The Counseling Center accepts Medicaid and is open to all members of the community. Youth Haven sees challenges as opportunities in helping each child gain confidence, independence and success as they continue to strengthen the community they serve; laying the foundation for children and teens to have hope for a brighter, better future. Youth Haven is fully-accredited by the nationally-recognized Council on Accreditation (COA), a member agency of the United Way of Collier County, and a Naples Children & Government, Education & Individuals Foundation beneficiary. Youth Haven has been awarded a 4-star rating by Charity Navigator, which is the highest possible rating offered by the nation's largest and most-utilized evaluator of a charity's Finance & Insurance health, and fiscal accountability and transparency.
