Africa 6000 International to host March 22 event with Fox News’ Jesse Watters
No water. That's what hundreds of millions of people in Africa deal with every day. However, you can make a difference. On Saturday, March 22, Africa 6000 International is hosting “Let’s Make a Splash and a Difference,” a life-changing event for those unable to get clean water in Africa’s thirstiest communities.
Taking place on World Water Day, the cocktail reception and dinner will feature special guests Jesse Watters, co-host of “Fox News the Five” and host of “Jesse Watters Primetime,” and Doug Pitt, Goodwill Ambassador to Tanzania.
Proceeds from this water-themed, semi-formal event will be used to construct clean, solar-powered water wells in Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia and Nigeria that are sustainably accessed and maintained.
Africa 6000 International brings life-saving clean water to communities in Africa by building sustainable, solar-powered water wells. Using their trained teams and drilling rigs, the organization constructs long-term water sources that transform communities. The wells provide clean water and help pave the way for medical clinics, schools and irrigated farms. The villagers are then trained to take over maintenance of the wells.
“The statistics are staggering: An African family exists on just 5 gallons of water a day, while individually, Americans use about 175 gallons of water daily,” said Doug Pitt, Africa 6000 team member and Goodwill Ambassador to Tanzania. “With your support, Africa 6000 is providing clean water to the very thirstiest people in the world, reducing the number of deaths due to water borne diseases and easing the everyday challenges by creating lasting, life-changing solutions.”
Let’s Make a Splash and a Difference takes place Saturday, March 22, from 5-9 p.m. at the Ritz-Carlton, 280 Vanderbilt Road, Naples. Tickets are $500 per person. Tickets and sponsorships are available at Africa6000intl.org.
