“Each room is a balance of function, comfort and style,” Scott said. “The ash maple flooring provides continuity between the rooms, inlaid in a chevron pattern in main living areas and straight laid in bedrooms and the study.”

High-gloss, grain-forward tigerwood in bathroom vanities, the kitchen island and the library’s side tables also spark cohesiveness in the award-winning interior design, which features low-profile mid-century modern furnishings and light-catching glass, acrylic and metallic surfaces echoing the play of sunlight on water. Throughout the great room, library and study, a mix of ebony and Sapienstone Pietra gray marble-finished built-ins and floating consoles with sleek lines align with Scott’s emphasis on architectural cabinetry. Linear lighting and LED technology remove wall clutter to maintain the streamlined aesthetic. Artwork, pendants and chandeliers are modern, sculptural and often playful.

In the library, a destination for quiet contemplation and engaging conversation, custom bookcases surround a linear fireplace with a floor-to-ceiling Sapienstone face accented by horizontal reglet channels. Scott selected a rectangular acrylic coffee table to center the room while adding contrast against the ebony cabinetry. The space is anchored by cream upholstered chairs and a sofa as well as stainless-steel occasional tables with white Carrara marble bases and glass tops. Two star-shaped accent tables finished in pebble cream add a touch of whimsy as does the vivid yellow-gold finish in the circular cutouts of the exotic wood side tables.

The wood writing desk and its modern chair float within the study’s dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows. The room also features a built-in with a TV, storage and display areas, faux-finished walls and two cream fabric lounge chairs.

Alabaster defines the kitchen, its light cabinetry, glossy subway tile backsplash and gray-veined countertops contrasted by the dark of the island’s tigerwood face and the taupe of three leather bar stools. The polished surfaces reflect the blues of the surrounding sea and sky.

The separate dining room features a multi-level chandelier, an ebony table and textural wallcovering in a niche with an alabaster credenza.

Scott created a sanctuary in the award-winning master suite, where an elegant neutral palette takes a step back to allow the prized water views to shine. Boasting minimal ornamentation and furnishings with the simple, clean lines preferred by the homeowners, the room includes a mink-finished bed flanked by hand-painted faux bone nightstands, while the walls are enveloped in textured vinyl silk and abaca wallpaper with a subtle striated pattern.

The deep tray ceiling features a champagne wash over pewter leaf wallpaper that introduces an ethereal shimmering quality. Scott strategically designed the residence’s ceilings to conceal drapery hardware. The bedroom’s private sitting area, furnished with just two comfortable chairs and a drum table, seems to float within the views, providing an idyllic destination for sunsets over the water.

On the rooftop is a private pool and spa with a wood deck and outdoor shower. Scott repeated the vibrant blue tile of waterlines in a trio of insets in a wall, adding visual interest.
