CIG Communities breaks ground on Aspire Naples

CIG Communities, a family-owned real estate company, has broken ground on Aspire Naples, a 233-unit apartment community located along Immokalee Road in North Naples.

Aspire Naples aims to address Collier County’s workforce housing challenges by offering approximately 30% of the units, or 71 units, at below market rate for qualified residents who live and work in Collier County. The Collier Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved the project in 2021.

“We are incredibly excited to begin construction on this important community project,” said Gregg Fusaro, partner at CIG Communities. “When we decided to build Aspire Naples, we knew we had to make a commitment not only to create a high-quality experience for residents, but also ensure our units were attainable to a variety of Collier County workers.”

Approximately 40,000 Collier County workers commute from outside of the county to work each day. Situated on Immokalee Road, between Livingston Road and Juliet Boulevard, Aspire Naples is ideally located nearby employment opportunities, schools and shopping centers.

This is an amazing project in a great location,” said Julie Schmelzle, chair of the Greater Naples Chamber. “The need for affordable workforce housing has been paramount for as long as I’ve been here and continues to be a challenge for the more than 1,400 businesses we represent at the Greater Naples Chamber. As an organization, we are going to continue to promote, advocate and support businesses to ensure we continue to see an inventory increase.”

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Collier County staff, community and business leaders. Speakers included members of the CIG Communities leadership team, Collier County Manager Amy Patterson and Collier County Community Land Trust Executive Director Michael Puchalla.

“We are so excited to be here in Collier County and be part of the solution,” said David Bastos, president of CIG Communities.

The first phase of construction will be completed in approximately 18 months, with residents expected to move in shortly after. Rents will vary due to size, location and income restrictions.
