Conservancy of Southwest Florida named Nonprofit of the Year
The Conservancy of Southwest Florida has been named The Community Foundation’s 2024 Nonprofit of the Year through its annual ENPY Awards program.
The Community Foundation’s Excellence in Nonprofit Performance Yearly (ENPY) Awards recognize the accomplishments of Southwest Florida nonprofit organizations, as well as their leaders, advocates, supporters and volunteers.
This year’s award winners were selected from more than 300 nominees. Winners were announced Dec. 3 at a ceremony in Fort Myers. The Community Foundation was founded in 1973 as the Cape Coral Community Foundation and has expanded its reach to national and international partners.
For 60 years, Conservancy of Southwest Florida has been the leading environmental advocacy organization in Southwest Florida dedicated to protecting the area’s water, land, wildlife and future. The Conservancy accomplishes its mission through environmental science, policy, education, climate change and resilience advocacy, and wildlife rehabilitation.
“As the Conservancy moves beyond 60 years, it is bigger, stronger and more experienced than ever in its history,” said Rob Moher, president and CEO of the Conservancy. “Our vision is to address critical areas to advance the mission to protect Southwest Florida’s water, land, wildlife and future. Recent intensifying hurricanes and other extreme weather events show that growing climate solutions through regional partnerships to tackle climate change will remain one of the core areas of the Conservancy’s mission.”
The Community Foundation award recognizes the Conservancy for stellar results and serving as a model for nonprofit excellence. The Conservancy was selected among other nominees for its exceptional overall impact on the community; creativity and innovation in programming, strategy and management practices, and success in obtaining the resources needed to further its mission.
