David Lawrence Centers receives $10,000 grant from First Horizon Foundation to support increased access to care for the community

NAPLES, Fla. (Oct. 1, 2024) – David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health (DLC), Collier County’s only comprehensive, not-for-profit behavioral health provider, was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from First Horizon Foundation to support its Access to Care for All Fund. Funds from the grant will be used toward general operations, increasing access to care for individuals in need of services through any of DLC’s six centers of care.

“As the mental health crisis in Collier County continues to escalate, this generous grant from First Horizon Foundation will help DLC expand programming and services to meet the growing needs of our community,” said Kimberly Dye, vice president of advancement at DLC. “We have seen our services truly change people’s lives, and we are working tirelessly to ensure everyone in the community has access to essential care.”

DLC currently provides more than 350,000 lifesaving and life-changing services to 9,000 individuals each year. The organization serves 13,000 individuals annually through prevention and education initiatives.

The funding will help offset staffing costs, including doctors, APRNs, clinicians and administrative support, as well as further align DLC’s services with other providers for improved integration of physical and mental health management. It will also allow DLC to continue growing clinical innovations, invest in staff training and development, and further enhance relationships with community partners.

The grant was awarded to DLC as part of First Horizon’s 160th Anniversary Grants for Good campaign. DLC was one of 25 organizations throughout Florida that received funding through the program, with 160 total grants distributed nationwide.

“We are honored to recognize the David Lawrence Center through our Grants for Good campaign,” said First Horizon Bank Market President David Gordley. “Their dedication to uplifting those in need is truly inspiring and we share in their dedication to help shape a brighter tomorrow for the greater Naples community.” For more than 50 years, DLC has been committed to ensuring behavioral health care is available to everyone in need through education, prevention, intervention and treatment. DLC delivers care throughout the community through six distinct centers of operation, including mental health, addiction recovery, emergency services, awareness and prevention, virtual care, and children and young adults.
