David Lawrence Centers to launch adult Pathways to Healing Program

David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health, Collier County’s only comprehensive, not-for-profit behavioral health provider, is honored to receive $375,000 from the State of Florida as part of the fiscal 2025-26 state budget. These funds will be used to launch the Pathways to Healing Program (PHP), an adult partial hospitalization program.

Working to fight the growing mental health crisis in Collier County, the Pathways to Healing Program will serve adults with behavioral health disorders requiring intensive day treatment to support their transition from inpatient hospitalization to traditional outpatient services. The new program will include a variety of behavioral health services such as group therapy, individual psychotherapy, medication management, psychoeducation, psychiatric rehabilitation services, recreational and wellness therapies. DLC currently offers a similar program for young people between the ages of 12 and 17.

“We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of Gov. Ron DeSantis, Sen. Kathleen Passidomo, Rep. Lauren Melo and the entire Florida Legislature,” said Scott Burgess, chief executive officer at DLC. “This vital funding will directly impact our ability to deliver comprehensive care and bridge critical gaps in our services. Launching a Pathways to Healing Program for adults will transform how we deliver behavioral healthcare, ensuring more community members have access to lifesaving and life-changing care.”

Collier County is facing the worst mental health and substance use crisis in its history, with more individuals seeking support from DLC each year. In 2024, more than 8,600 children and adults received services across all of DLC’s programs.

For more than 55 years, DLC has been committed to ensuring behavioral health care is available to everyone in need through education, prevention, intervention and treatment. DLC delivers care throughout the community through six distinct centers of operation, including: emergency services; children and young adult services; adult services; addiction recovery; awareness and prevention; and virtual care.
