DLC Advocates to host 13th Annual Sunset Cruise for Mental Health on May 13
David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health (DLC), Collier County’s only comprehensive, not-for-profit behavioral health provider, is excited to announce that the DLC Advocates will host the 13th Annual Sunset Cruise for Mental Health on Wednesday, May 13. The annual event provides community members with the opportunity to learn more about the mental health crisis, support DLC’s work to address the growing need across the region and offer hope for the future.
Presented by Purpose Journey, guests will enjoy delicious appetizers and beverages aboard the Naples Princess. Boarding begins at 5:45 p.m. at 550 Port O Call Way, with the two-hour cruise departing at 6:45 p.m. Media sponsorship is provided by WGCU, and reef sponsors include Halstatt, Florida Blue and Conroy, Conroy & Durant, PA.
Collier County is currently facing the worst mental health crisis in its history, with more people turning to DLC for help every day. Attendees will learn more about DLC’s vital services and future plans to provide more hope, as well as hear inspirational stories while sailing along the beautiful coast.
“For 13 years, the Sunset Cruise has brought our community together to elevate the conversation around mental health and inspire action,” said Jessica Liria, director of community wellness and impact at David Lawrence Centers. “Each year, we see firsthand how powerful it is when advocates, partners and supporters unite with a shared commitment to expanding access to care and ensuring hope is always within reach.”
DLC Advocates are committed to spreading awareness about mental health and substance use issues in Collier County. All proceeds from the DLC Advocates’ events benefit the DLC Wellness Institute and support its ability to provide impactful mental health awareness training at no cost. Through interactive presentations, training sessions, workshops and wellness initiatives, the Institute equips community members with tools and resources to strengthen emotional well-being and build resilience, mitigating the risk of behavioral health concerns like substance use and suicide.
“The Sunset Cruise is a reflection of our community’s dedication to making mental health a priority,” said Jack Hellmer, chair of the DLC Advocates. “Every ticket purchased and every conversation started helps strengthen our mission and reminds individuals and families that they are not alone in their journey.”
