IMMOKALEE, Fla. (June 21, 2024) – Janet Pogar and Lisa Casey have joined the board of directors for the Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) created in 2018 by a group of concerned citizens who saw the damage done by Hurricane Irma to already substandard trailers and shacks rented by farmworkers, essential workers and other low-income families in Immokalee. The organization is currently constructing a new Category 5 hurricane-rated rental complex composed of 128 two- and three-bedroom apartments, plus a community center.

Pogar and Casey have each dedicated a large portion of their lives to ensure that others may live more comfortably.

Pogar is Florida Blue’s Market Leader for SW Florida. As the state’s largest insurer, she oversees and coordinates with cross functional teams to develop, lead and execute local strategy for Florida Blue that includes local market and community relations, sales, products, analytics, hospital and provider networks, and care management. Pogar is committed to Florida Blue’s mission of helping people and communities achieve better health, and is involved in several business, civic, and philanthropic organizations throughout her territory.  She is on the board of directors of the Naples Chamber of Commerce and is involved in the Naples Woman’s Club (NWC) which supports many philanthropic endeavors in the community. 

Casey relocated to Bonita Springs in the summer of 2022 from Connecticut. After visiting Immokalee and hearing Arol Buntzman, chairman of Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance, passionately speak about the organization’s mission, Casey knew she wanted to get involved. She has more than 30 years of experience working in Human Resources. Before retiring in 2022, Casey was a part of the Executive Team at Hubbard-Hall, responsible for developing strategy along with goals and objectives to ensure a results-driven organization.  She was also responsible for strategically guiding and managing the overall Human Resource function to include employee relations, communications, engagement, organizational development, training, recruitment, retention, labor relations and compensation & benefits.
