NAMI Collier County receives $25,000 grant from the Collier Community Foundation
NAMI Collier County, Inc. is pleased to announce it has received a $25,000 grant from the Collier Community Foundation. These funds will support the HUGS Children’s Mental Health Program.
HUGS provides a clinical continuum of care to children and families living with mental illness. Staff screen over 2,000 children per year and provide clinically driven care coordination to over 900 children. The generous funding from the Collier Community Foundation will fund individualized interventions carried out by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, ensuring that children with autism, anxiety, depression, and other mental illnesses receive the care they need for free and with no wait list.
“The Collier Community Foundation has been – and with this grant, continues to be – instrumental in NAMI Collier County’s ability to expand our Children’s Mental Health Program and meet the growing needs of some of the most vulnerable members of our community,” explained Beth Hatch, CEO of NAMI Collier County.
The Collier Community Foundation awards annual grants through a competitive application and review process. Selected organizations receive grant dollars from the Foundation’s discretionary funds. These funds were gifted by donors who believe in the Community Foundation’s ability to mobilize resources to address the community’s greatest needs.
