New Sports & Lifestyle Center, golf course renovations enhance the Mediterra experience
Mediterra, Naples’ unprecedented 17-time Community of the Year in two decades, is embarking on major amenities projects that will significantly elevate its enviable lifestyle and member experience. The capital improvements include the construction of a new Sports & Lifestyle Center and renovations to Mediterra’s two world-class golf courses, ensuring the Club’s status as a timeless top-tier club and its ranking among the world’s top five percent of country clubs
“Mediterra’s leadership and members are forward-thinking and committed to enhancing the community’s lifestyle with innovative new amenities, which ultimately increase property values,” said Mark Wilson, president and CEO of London Bay Homes, which offers new-construction homes in the Naples community. “These new projects follow the recent renovations of the main clubhouse and the Beach Club.”
The new Sports & Lifestyle Center will span over 30,000 square feet and feature an expanded fitness center with dedicated Pilates, spin, yoga, power and fusion studios, large locker rooms, new common areas, club and community offices and a café/smoothie bar on the first floor. Plunge pools and infrared saunas will provide both hot and cold therapy options. The second floor introduces additional common spaces, a gathering terrace, meeting, lifestyle and ladies’ card rooms and creates a state-of-the-art spa offering a variety of relaxing and tempting treatments.
The existing 18,000-square-foot Sports Club will remain open during construction of the new center. It will be updated with a new building offering a casual restaurant and bar, a racquet sports pro shop and new bocce ball courts. The new facility will also feature a modern pool and provide space for future expansions. The club currently offers eight clay tennis courts, seven gel-coated pickleball courts and four clay bocce ball courts for a very active bocce league.
“The new buildings will cater to the latest trends in health, wellness and lifestyle,” said Wilson. “Members will enjoy a resort-inspired ambiance and elevated amenities in the privacy of their community.”
Additionally, Mediterra is embarking on restoration and improvements to its championship golf courses led by legendary golf course designer Tom Fazio, the original architect, and his team. Offering an exclusive experience with membership capped at 450, the private Golf Club features a membership wait list and 36 holes of revered golf woven within nature preserves, lakes and wetlands – a setting certified as Audubon’s first-ever Silver Sanctuary.
Members hone their game at the 2.5-acre Golf Learning Center featuring a double-ended driving range, short-game area and putting green for practice. The club also offers the latest technology in swing analysis and club fitting as well as card rooms, lounges, locker concierge and a pro shop.
The new projects follow extensive renovations to Mediterra’s private Beach Club and 60,000-square-foot Clubhouse, offering multiple venues for casual and fine dining. Mediterra’s exclusive lifestyle is complemented by its surroundings, immersing residents in nearly 1,000 acres dedicated to protected nature preserves, golf, open space and unique parks and gardens connected by eight miles of walking and bike paths.
Award-winning London Bay Homes currently offers completed showcase estates for immediate closing as well as additional homes under construction.
