Romanza Interior Design elevates luxury and livability in Aqualane Shores showcase estate

Romanza Interior Design establishes a sense of place, elevating livability and luxury in the high-level design of a two-story showcase estate at 2021 Gordon Dr. E. in Naples’ Aqualane Shores neighborhood. Located just a half block from the Gulf, the five-bedroom, 7,208-square-foot residence built by London Bay Homes features watery shades of aqua, turquoise and teal, custom millwork and rift-sawn cabinetry and speaks to discerning homebuyers with its easy lifestyle. It provides five full bathrooms, two half baths, laundry rooms on each floor, a butler’s pantry and a side-loading three-car garage.

“This is a beautiful home that’s perfect for entertaining. It has an inviting conversation area in the great room at the bar, large outdoor spaces and bedrooms reminiscent of a high-end hotel,” said Jennifer Stevens, senior design director for Romanza Interior Design, the area’s premier luxury boutique firm based in Naples. “Our goal in the design was to enhance the estate’s open floor plan, maximize connections between indoor and outdoor spaces, and convey relaxed yet sophisticated elegance.”

The palette features off-white backdrops, 24-by-48-inch matte porcelain tile and wide-plank oak flooring, creating a canvas for the various iterations of blue and warm wood tones of custom built-ins, furnishings and outdoor tongue-and-groove ceilings. The 10-inch baseboards with channel detailing add a touch of contemporary finesse as does the tambour finish of the great room’s asymmetrical custom cabinetry. Interiors are filled with natural light, impressive artwork and sculptural lighting.

Situated at the home’s well-appointed bar and flowing to the larger of two covered alfresco areas, the social room redefines the traditional great room-kitchen-dining room floor plan, providing an intimate area for lounging under an illuminated multidimensional cloud ceiling. The bar has two wine refrigerators, lit-from-within glass, metal and wood cabinetry and a perla venata quartzite countertop for decanting and displaying prized vintages.

“The bar and social room are ideal for entertaining guests,” said Stevens. “It’s a thoughtful feature that provides a space for small groups while also interacting with the other areas people tend to gather in.”

The adjoining kitchen also features perla venata at the island’s dramatic waterfall countertop and rift-cut white oak cabinetry with curio interiors, shelves, glass fronts and the off-white finish. Perimeter cabinetry and backsplashes boast pale-gray dolce vita stone, incorporate wall ovens and a coffee system, while the stainless-steel hood has an aesthetically pleasing curved design.

The convenient and well-equipped butler’s pantry offers additional appliances, workspace and matching finishes. Located off the butler’s pantry, the powder room is a true design statement, with marble walls and floors, striking wallpaper, a metallic sink and rift-cut white oak cabinetry.

Offering a full summer kitchen, a linear fireplace and ample seating areas under roof, outdoor spaces are as meticulously designed as the interior. A striking dark countertop, crafted from Dekton’s Kelya natural collection, offers the authentic look of stone with easier maintenance, showcasing a deep charcoal with natural veining that also frames the 6-foot linear fireplace and a table integrated into the sectional sofa. The kitchen features a polished gray marbled backsplash, weathered desert tan cabinetry, a built-in stainless-steel grill with a custom hood and an undercounter refrigerator. Stevens accentuates with vibrant turquoise, tangerine and teal against warmer neutrals.

“The outdoor area is comprehensive,” Stevens said of the two main covered alfresco areas spanning 1,274 square feet. “This is where future homeowners will enjoy entertaining and spending a day by the pool.”

The pool, with a distinctive destination featuring two chaise lounges, anchors the space. Lush landscaping, including a specimen sea grape tree and royal poinciana, ensures a private and verdant haven around the mosaic-tiled pool with a shallow sun shelf and floating spa.

With its menswear-inspired sofa, flannel throws and metallic vinyl cork behind a built-in bookcase with filing cabinetry, the clubroom is a hidden gem, situated beyond the open staircase. It combines lounge and TV with a dedicated workspace and private access to the outdoor putting green. “This space serves as an office and escape,” said Stevens.

Designed as a sanctuary, the master suite blends earth tones and neutrals with charcoal accents, exuding a soft and welcoming ambiance. Soft lighting and touches of gold create an inviting glow around the bed. “I would never leave,” Stevens said of the expansive master bathroom, which features his-and-her sides connected by a walk-through shower with glass partitions. “The entire suite is a place to exhale and unwind.”

Both master bathrooms feature white Thazos quartz countertops with full backsplashes under the mirrors. Thazos quartz also graces the shower seat tops, niches and shelves and extends into both his and hers closets. The flooring is 24-by-48-inch golden reverie marble, a beautiful white with gray veining. The walk-through shower features a floor of Calacatta dolomiti pietra divina mosaic with subtle triangles and golden reverie marble walls. The morning kitchen with cabinets and a display shelf further enhances the master wing.

As an architectural statement, the estate’s floating staircase has an illuminated wood base, glass railings and leads to the nearly 3,000-square-foot second floor, offering a loft with a morning kitchen, covered balconies and four distinctive en-suite bedrooms featuring custom built-in wardrobes instead of traditional walk-in closets.

“The VIP room feels like a high-end hotel suite with a separate sitting area and a wardrobe,” said Stevens. “All of the secondary bedrooms are generously sized and imagined as their own space.”

The VIP suite features a private balcony and a bathroom with maple cabinetry, a tower cabinet, gray Emperador countertops and a shower seat top and light gray matte flooring. The shower has a unique coin penny platinum shower floor and a picket vanity accent wall.

The third bedroom includes an armoire, a niche with bath supplies, a wardrobe and changing area, with wood ash countertops in the bath and shower. The fourth bedroom, a large space, boasts a private balcony and a spacious walk-in closet.
