STARability Foundation expands team to support continued growth
STARability Foundation, a leading nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of people with autism and other developmental disabilities, is pleased to announce several staff promotions and new hires as the organization continues to expand its programs, services and community impact.
“These talented individuals bring passion, expertise and a deep commitment to our mission,” said Karen Govern, CEO of STARability Foundation. “As we continue to grow and serve more participants, their leadership and dedication will play a vital role in advancing inclusive opportunities and strengthening our impact throughout the community.”
Macy Organt joins STARability as academy programs manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations of STARability’s Trailblazer, Jr. Trailblazer and Virtual Trailblazer Academy programs. She supports program staff and ensures engaging, safe and supportive environments for participants. Organt holds a master’s degree in elementary education from the University of Virginia with certifications in students with disabilities and general education. She previously taught in New York City.
Alexandra Rogers joins the organization as senior human resources strategist. She brings a people-focused, culture-driven approach to human resources, supporting employees and managers through hiring, onboarding and professional development while fostering a positive and compliant workplace. Her experience includes roles at Grace Place for Children & Families, Naples Grande Beach Resort and Windstar on Naples Bay.
Melanie Castilla has been promoted to marketing and communications manager. Based in Naples, Castilla leads high-impact marketing initiatives, community partnerships and fundraising campaigns that support STARability’s mission. In addition to her work with the organization, she is a REALTOR®, the founder of Pucker Up, and is currently pursuing her MBA in Marketing at St. Thomas University. Her work blends creativity with data-driven strategy to elevate awareness and engagement.
Lacey Rinaca has been promoted to career services manager. A longtime STARability employee, Rinaca is dedicated to advancing inclusive employment opportunities for individuals of all abilities. As an empathetic advocate, she helps participants identify their strengths, explore career paths and pursue meaningful, paid work. She leads the creation of classes, activities and hands-on learning experiences that support these goals. Rinaca is currently completing her Master of Science in Developmental Disabilities at Nova Southeastern University.
Aviana Accardi has been promoted to program coordinator. A proud Florida State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Accardi has been part of the STARability team for the past three years. She began as a volunteer and advanced through roles as an instructor and academy program specialist before stepping into her current position. Her experience with the Jr. Trailblazer Academy program helped solidify her passion for helping participants reach their fullest potential.
Berenice Labra has been promoted to health and wellness education coordinator. In her role, she designs and leads engaging programs focused on nutrition, fitness and overall well-being for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Labra combines education, creativity and community connection to empower participants to build confidence, independence and lifelong healthy habits. She holds a bachelor’s degree in community health from Florida Gulf Coast University and is a certified health education specialist.
