STARability Foundation partners with Beyond Juicery to support inclusion through “Keira’s Big Smoothie Day” and April Round-Up Campaign
STARability Foundation is proud to partner with Beyond Juicery + Eatery on a meaningful new initiative inspired by one of its own participants. In March, Beyond Juicery hosted a special one-day event, Keira’s Big Smoothie Day, where customers had the opportunity to meet STARability participant Keira and support the organization through their purchases. A portion of proceeds from all large smoothies sold during the event benefited STARability.
Building on that momentum, Beyond Juicery is continuing its support throughout the month of April by offering guests the opportunity to “round up” their purchases at checkout, with all additional funds donated to STARability. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to inclusion and empowerment, values brought to life through Keira’s leadership and initiative.
The smoothie fundraiser was Keira’s own idea and was aptly named Keira’s Big Idea. Motivated by her personal journey, she shared, “I have a learning difference, and I was inspired by my own challenges to create the fundraiser for people like me.”
Keira, who was recently hired by Beyond Juicery in February, has quickly become an integral part of the team. Her previous experience includes roles at Macy’s and an internship at Winfield Street Coffee. At STARability, she is actively involved in several programs, including Trailblazer Academy, Career Services, such as STAR Entrepreneurship and the Reverse Job Fair, and STAR Connections programming, where she participates in art, walk and run club, monthly socials and book club.
“We are incredibly grateful to Beyond Juicery for embracing Keira’s vision and creating opportunities that celebrate ability and inclusion,” said Karen Govern, CEO of STARability Foundation. “Partnerships like this not only raise critical funds, but also elevate the voices and talents of our participants in powerful and inspiring ways.”
Proceeds from both the March event and April round-up campaign will support STARability’s innovative programs and services, which are designed to help individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities build meaningful, independent lives.
STARability’s partnership with Beyond Juicery mirrors the impact of past collaborations with local businesses that engage the community in simple yet impactful ways, such as point-of-sale donations and cause-driven menu items, to create lasting change.
