Sunshine Ace Hardware’s ‘Spring Round Up’ nets $33,811 for Children’s Miracle Network

Sunshine Ace Hardware raised $33,811 to enhance pediatric care in Southwest Florida through the company’s 2024 Spring Round Up, a one-month fundraising initiative to support Children’s Miracle Network.

Throughout April, residential and commercial customers at retail stores across the region – Sunshine Ace Hardware, Sunshine Commercial Paint & More, Crowder Bros. Ace Hardware and Crowder’s Gifts & Gadgets – could round up their purchases at the register or choose a specific donation amount.

“When you think about each donation being just a nickel, dime or quarter, it truly shows the collective impact we can make on the lives of sick and injured children,” said Michael Wynn, president of Sunshine Ace Hardware. “To raise $38,811 a couple coins at a time shows how deep generosity runs in our community – everyone can contribute.”

Donations to Children’s Miracle Network help cover costs of patient services for children and families, charitable care for patients lacking sufficient funds or insurance, and education programs for patients, families and the community. Contributions also allow hospitals to purchase life-saving equipment and provide advancement services for innovative programs and projects.

Spring Round Up donations made at stores in Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties support Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, located in Fort Myers.

“This was the best Spring Round Up ever,” said Toni Primeaux, director of development for Children’s Miracle Network at Golisano Children’s Hospital. “Sunshine Ace associates and customers are so committed to the mission, and their culture of giving really shows.”

Donations made at stores in Pinellas and Manatee counties support Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg.

“We are extremely grateful to Sunshine Ace Hardware and their generous customers for rounding up their purchases in April,” said Stephanie Hall, director of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Foundation. “Every penny raised will be used where needed most – helping support research, purchase equipment, and provide programs, services and care for the thousands of patients we see each year.”

The two hospitals are among 170 nationwide that share Children’s Miracle Network vision to “change kids’ health to change the future.”

Sunshine Ace Hardware has raised $392,774 through a series of fundraising campaigns and initiatives since declaring Children’s Miracle Network as its primary charitable partner in December 2019.
