The program inspires and connects 10-15 women mentors with middle school aged, female, at-risk mentees. 2-3 monthly sessions, beginning in November and ending in May, cover topics relevant to teens of today. In addition to the classroom experience, the mentees also spend time engaging with the mentors during field trips. The result is an experience that helps develop peer relationships amongst the young women and bonds between the mentees and their mentors. The experiences empower the mentees – and their mentors – in a variety of ways that make a lasting, very positive impact. Mentors are asked to commit to a minimum of 7 sessions and are encouraged to consider facilitating a session.
